·         Upper Intermediate Level

·         Lower Intermediate Level

·         Friendship Match

Check-in time will be 8:15-8:45 am on the morning of the event, Saturday July 19th.

Detailed Information

To assure maximum efficiency and consistency throughout this competition, as well as fair and equitable treatment of teams and players, the following principles and guidelines will be followed:

1.       HEIGHT OF NET: Net height shall be women's height [2.24m (7'4 1/8")].

2.       GIRL/GUY RATIO: 2 girls/2 guys on the court. 3 guys and 1 girl will not be allowed; 2 guys and 1 girl will not be allowed. Doubles are not allowed. If a team plays with more than 2 girls on the court, the additional girls will be designated as "guys" and must play by male rules.

3.       FEMALE TOUCH RULE: When the ball is played more than once by a team, at least one of the contacts shall be made by a female player. There is no requirement for a male player to contact the ball, regardless of the number of hits by a team.

4.       MALE HITTING: Men are allowed to spike from behind or by jumping from behind the 10-foot line only. Any male contact of the ball from in front of the 10-foot must be in the form of an arc-ed rainbow (90 degrees is not a rainbow). Women are allowed to hit from anywhere.

5.       OVERLAP RULE: There is no overlap rule. However, service order must rotate in order.

6.       PASSING: Passes can be made by use of arms, feet, head, body, as long as its one attempt to play the ball, and it doesn't result in a illegal lift or double. No open hand dinking is allowed.

7.       BLOCKING: Men are not allowed to block; women may block anytime.

8.       REGULATIONS: All matches shall be sideout scoring. Points/game and games/match will be determined by the number of teams in the pool.

9.       TYPE OF TOURNAMENT: Round Robin...all teams are guaranteed a reasonable number of games. A multi-court round robin in the same division will require a championship playoff.

10.   SERVING: Jump Serves: not allowed in Friendship. Service attempts: In friendship, ball must be allowed to fall to ground and serve can be re-attempted  once. All other levels, only one serve attempt is allowed. Service rotation: All players must rotate service.

11.   WARM-UP TIME: Limited to 10 minutes for your first match & 5 minutes for each match thereafter. Hitting lines are limited to 2 minutes between games. These warm-ups will be strictly enforced & it will be the referee'ing team's responsibility to follow these times.
