August 26, 2006 The menu was Chili and Potatos this time. Our volunteers spent the first hour and a half prep-ing the meal. The recipe for chili is fairly simple. Put ground beef over a stove, stir and flip to cook. Add chili beans, onions, tomato, tomato source, salt, chili pepper, and cumin. Stir over the hot stove. We also prepared baked potatos, salad, sliced oranges, and buttered bread. As the potato and chili cooked, the volunteers took a break to enjoy some sweets at Yogurt Park. We returned shortly to serve a warm meal to approximately 200 guests. And after our guests finished their meals...and after we finished cleaning up...the volunteers went to Tako Sushi to enjoy a delicious meal of their own! |
