July 19-20, 2003

AACO held its Annual Sports Day for Charity for the 8th consecutive year on July 19 and 20. This time, the latest change was the addition of a tennis tournament, expanding the event to two days! Like all the other past years, the weather was terrific, and around 400 people participated in this, AACO's largest event of each year!

Each year at this event, people from all parts of the Bay Area come together to participate, competing in softball, volleyball, and now tennis, for fun, friendship, and charity! Proceeds from their registration fees are donated to local community service organizations. This year, money raised was donated to Asian Health Services, the Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation, and the Oakland Academic Student Educational Services.

To ensure a day filled with enjoyment and good sportsmanship, teams are grouped by experience level, and included in the package are breakfast, lunch, t-shirts, and photos for everyone, plus prizes for the winners!

Thanks to all the particpants, and an extra special thanks to all the volunteers who helped out! And congratulations to all the tournament winners, including "Team Chump" from the softball Competitive Division, "50 Bucks" from the volleyball Take-No-Prisoners Division, and Allison Dodd and Andrew Liu from the Mixed Doubles tennis division!
